Field of Study: Theology

As a Cuban-American, Jennifer Fernandez values diversity in education. As a child growing up in Miami she was inspired to see her ethnic identity reflected in that of her teachers and it empowered her to believe that she too could one day be a confident Latina leader and educator. A constructive theologian, her work brings together streams of thought from liberal Christianity, process theology, and critical theory. Her current research explores relational and feminist theology in light of women’s social movements.
