Member Schools
Established in 2007, the HTI consortium is a unique collaborative enterprise in theological and religious education whereby 24 PhD-granting institutions have made a commitment to increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of Latine PhD students across the nation. HTI Member Schools demonstrate their commitment by uniting and leveraging resources (human, financial, and infrastructural) and exchanging information and ideas to create the best practices in addressing the needs of Latine faculty and students. With their support, HTI is now serving the largest cohort of Latine PhD students, and continues to graduate students within 5.5 years, while maintaining a graduation rate of 94%. Additionally, the HTI consortium received the 2010 Examples of Excelencia award at the graduate-level from ¡Excelencia in Education!, catapulting the HTI model into the larger landscape of education in the United States. Most recently, HTI has acquired major grants from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Henry Luce Foundation, and the Lilly Endowment Inc., to enlarge its vision and support to PhD students with dissertation fellowships.
