Book Prize

This Book Prize recognizes distinguished contributions in religion and theology that critically engages Latine scholarship and communities, advancing understanding and promoting communal well-being. Each year, a book by a pre-tenure scholar is recognized and rewarded with an honorarium and the winner is afforded the opportunity to deliver in person a book lecture at HTI’s annual Professional Development Conference, a recognized venue for scholarly exchange held each June at Princeton Theological Seminary.

The immediate and long-term goals are to:

  •  Inspire and amplify community-serving scholarship.
  • Support emerging scholars on the path to tenure and leadership.
  • Elevate exemplary books for teaching use and broader impact.

Past winners have included some of the foremost voices in Latine scholarship in the United States.
