Biography: 

At Oblate School of Theology (OST), Paniel Reyes Cárdenas specializes in Eastern Byzantine Hesychast spirituality. With a background in philosophy, Reyes Cárdenas has a broad range of interests, from Scholastic Realism in Peirce’s Pragmatist Philosophy to spirituality, philosophy of mathematics, metaphysics, medieval philosophy, philosophy of religion, and German Idealism. He has published monographs in philosophy, edited collections, presented papers at conferences worldwide in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and founded the Peirce Latin-American Society. Reyes Cárdenas is committed to exploring the intersection of philosophy and spirituality, aiming to bridge the gap between disciplines. His collaboration with Fr. John Markey OP at OST has deepened his understanding of the semiotic paradigm in the study of spirituality. Reyes Cárdenas is dedicated to fostering dialogue between diverse traditions and hopes to contribute significantly to the field of Christian Spirituality through teaching, research, and community engagement.
