Biography: 

Originally from Peru, Nataly Romero arrived in the United States in 2021 to study for her master’s degree. She was ordained in the Methodist Church of Peru as an elder in 2022. Romero is doing a PhD in Bible studies with a major in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament and a minor in New Testament. Her research interests include the narrative texts in Deuteronomistic History, Images of Women in the Hebrew Bible (sex, childbirth, role in the society), Feminist interpretation, and Latin American feminist interpretation, incorporating Trauma studies. Considering the Bible as an authoritative book, especially within Christianity in Latin America, Romero’s objective is to respond with interpretations that respond liberally in the middle of patriarchal contexts.
