Biography:
Laura Montoya Cifuentes is a doctoral student in the Person, Community, and Religious Life course of study. Her research examines the theologies and practices of gender and sexuality among Latin American Pentecostal women, as well as intergenerational dynamics within Pentecostalism. Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, she completed a six-year program in Psychology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Afterward, she worked as a community psychologist for eight years, supporting communities affected by the country’s sixty-year armed conflict. In addition to her work on Pentecostalism, her academic interests include Feminist Studies, Liberation Theologies, Latin American studies, and Sociology of Religion.
