Financial Aid Fellowships:

PhD Financial Aid (the Joint Doctoral Program)

All financial aid awarded by the DU/Iliff Joint Doctoral Program is based on merit. We strive to maximize financial support for our students. All JDP students are awarded a Tuition Discount Fellowship that covers between 60% to 100% of the first 82 units of tuition.

· With a mid-range discount of 80% the tuition would look more like this:

· Fall Quarter (8 Units)

· Tuition with an 80% discount: $2,669

· Winter Quarter (12 Units)

· Tuition with an 80% discount: $4,003

· Spring Quarter (11 Units)

· Tuition with an 80% discount: $3,670

The final 8 units of independent research (dissertation credit) are not covered by the Tuition Discount Fellowship. However other scholarships and Graduate Teaching Assistantships of $2800.00 per course are often available.

· In addition to aid that comes directly from the program, funding is available from the University of Denver Office of Graduate Education. Special application or nomination is required to receive these monies.

DMin Financial Aid:

Iliff supports its diverse student body with scholarships thanks to the generosity of its donors and alumni. Iliff is committed to supporting and collaborating with our students to identify funding to support their graduate studies. Like most schools, scholarship funding levels at Iliff vary year to year. But all applicants to Iliff are considered for any institutional scholarships we may have. What follows are recent scholarships we have awarded to our students, but we cannot guarantee that all scholarships will be available in a given academic year. Iliff has also offered matching scholarships through its community and denominational partners including the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF), Segal AmeriCorps Educational Award, AUMTS Excellence in Clergy Leadership, Disciples Seminary Foundation (Disciples of Christ), and the Yellow Ribbon program to offset tuition costs by an additional 10% – 30%.

· Applicants are not required to submit a separate application to be considered for Iliff institutional scholarships, and all admitted students are automatically considered for scholarship support.

· Additional scholarship support for degree-seeking students may be available through donors, grants, and external scholarship opportunities. Students who are accepted to Iliff will receive information from the Financial Aid Office regarding the scholarship application. An Iliff login and password are required to access this form. Certificate in Latinx Studies

Highlighting our commitment to diversity and our celebration of inclusive excellence, the DU/Iliff Joint PhD Program in the Study of Religion offers a 24-credit hour Certificate in Latinx Studies as part of the 90-credit hour PhD. Guided by faculty at both DU and Iliff, Joint PhD students consider questions of Latinx histories and culture from a theological and religious studies perspective and engage directly with Latinx communities. This certificate prepares students to teach Latinx Studies focusing on religion, theology, and social praxis. It is open only to students already admitted to the DU/Iliff Joint PhD in the Study of Religion.

Barco Library at the Cable Center

• The Barco Library at the Cable Center houses the world’s premier collection of cable-related information and resources.

Bonfils Stanton Music Library

• Our collection includes more than 26,000 music scores, 18,000 books on music, 17,000 audio and video recordings, and extensive online subscriptions.
• Search the Music Library’s holdings through Compass.
• We also lend selected tech gadgets such as audio and video recorders, phone and laptop chargers, an Ableton Launchkey, an Etherwave Theremin, and more.

Illiff School of Theology Taylor Library

• The Ira J. Taylor Library has served the research and information needs of the Iliff community and the public for more than 50 years. The library contains the largest theological collection in the Rocky Mountain Region, with more than 250,000 volumes, and 900-plus periodical and serial subscriptions. Visit the library site.

Government Documents

• DU’s official U.S. depository status dates back to 1909, although many of the 900,000+ documents in the collection are from well before that time. DU Libraries holds a rich legacy collection of government documents, and our consortial commitments with other Colorado depository libraries will allow us to retain our collection for years to come. Collection strengths include:
  • Commerce and transportation (Interstate Commerce Commission)
  • Foreign relations
  • Congressional hearings and reports
  • Historical executive agency documents
• All of our current documents are available in electronic format since the Libraries receive all items distributed by the Government Printing Office. Older print and microfiche materials can be requested from off-site storage.

Exhibits

• Through abundant and varied exhibits and academically themed events, the Anderson Academic Commons engages students, faculty, staff, and community members in experiential learning that enhances their formal education and provides opportunities to explore across disciplines and gather beyond the classroom.
• Some events in the AAC are initiated by the libraries, while others are coordinated by partners from around campus:
  • The Library hosts annual author’s lectures and receptions related to exhibits
  • DU schools and units generate events taking advantage of their own strengths and resources, and host them in the Special Events Room at the Academic Commons

DU Libraries’ Support of Open Access and Open Educational Resources

• Open Access (OA) and Open Educational Resource (OER) materials are freely available research, teaching, and learning materials that anyone can access online. Through the use and creation of OA and OER materials, we’re able to share knowledge more equitably. University Libraries advocate for OA publishing, as well as the creation and use of OERs.

• Iliff’s ecumenical, multi-ethnic faculty brings a wealth of experience to students and provides an educational resource unique to Iliff. Iliff’s faculty is active in church leadership, scholastic research and publishing, as well as in social and community service. Iliff also utilizes the rich resources of adjunct faculty from the Denver area and is host to visiting faculty from around the world.

The Women’s Alliance

• Founded in the mid-1990s, The Women’s Alliance at Iliff is a dynamic group of volunteers that has included Iliff Trustees, faculty, staff, alumni/ae, and community members. Its focus has been on issues of importance for women and on uplifting a wide variety of women’s voices and expertise.
