Biography:
Evelmyn was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States as a teenager. As a 1.5 generation immigrant, she lives in a constant tension of in-between spaces. She is interested in exploring simple cultural practices through a theological framework. Evelmyn’s research interests include contextual theologies, particularly Latine theologies, the interconnection between civic engagement, faith and justice, and intercultural spirituality. Evelmyn has a passion for teaching, learning, and addressing the lack of access to theological education for underrepresented groups.
