Dr. Hosffman Ospino

Dr. Hosffman Ospino

Associate Professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston College

Hosffman Ospino, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston College, School of Theology and Ministry where he is also Chair of the Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry. He is Director of the university’s Graduate Programs in Hispanic Ministry. Dr. Ospino is the principal investigator for several national studies on Hispanic Catholics. He is currently advancing a national study on how Hispanic Catholics discern a vocation to ecclesial ministry. He has authored/edited 13 books and more than 130 essays, academic and general. Dr. Ospino serves on the boards of several national organizations, including the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). He is the incoming President of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States (ACHTUS) and an officer of the Catholic Theological Society of America (CTSA).

Michael Thomson has worked in publishing for over 25 years. He is acquisitions and development editor for Cascade / Wipf and Stock Publishing. Previously he served a similar role with Eerdmans Publishing Co. In this role, Michael looks out for good publications in theology and finds it very rewarding to discover new talent and new ideas. The role of the theological publisher, as he sees it, is to facilitate theological discussions relevant to both church and academy. Wipf and Stock enjoys working alongside authors at different stages of their writing career, from the recent graduate to the more established writing for the academy, classroom, or church. Michael grew up in Montreal, Canada but moved to Michigan where he still resides over 25 years ago. Proud father to two sons as well as a stepson and stepdaughter and proud husband to Renita, he hopes to continue his passion to pursue great theological discourse for many years.
