Leslie Díaz-Pérez
The Rev. Dr. Leslie Díaz-Pérez is a dedicated educator, pastor, and leader with experience in theological education, public education, and ministry. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Admissions and Enrollment at McCormick Theological Seminary and the Director of El Centro, The Center for the Study of Latinx Theology and Ministry. Before transitioning to higher education, Dr. Díaz-Pérez devoted over 20 years to serving as a special education teacher and department chair in the Chicago Public School system, where she was committed to fostering inclusive learning environments for diverse learners.
Dr. Díaz-Pérez holds a Doctor of Ministry and a Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary and an MA in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago. With a strong commitment to supporting Latinx communities, she has successfully led initiatives to develop and expand academic programs, secure significant grant funding, and accompany the next generation of theological leaders. Dr. Díaz-Pérez also brings 16 years of pastoral ministry experience, having served alongside her husband, Rev. Obed Pérez, in various congregational contexts. Beyond her professional roles, she values continuous learning. She strives to make a meaningful impact in every role she undertakes, believing that authentic leadership is rooted in the love of God and the service to others.
