Abner F. Hernandez
Assistant Professor of Church History at Andrews University
Field of Study: Church History
Dr. Abner Hernandez is an ordained minister of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and is the Assistant Professor of Adventist Studies at Andrews University. He was born in Cuba and was the professor of theology at the Seminario Teológico Adventista de Cuba in Havana for seven years. He then taught historical and systematic theology at the Universidad de Montemorelos in Mexico for three years before moving to the U.S. and getting his PhD in church history and systematic theology at Andrews. Dr. Hernandez’s main interests include Reformation and post-Reformation history and the development of Adventist theology. He and his wife, Keila Diaz, live in Michigan with their two sons, Abner Jasiel and Andy Josías.
