Dr. Barton is a Professor in the History of Christianity, with a focus on both the history of American Christianity and Hispanic Christianity. He is also Professor in Hispanic/Latino/a church history and ministry. He is an ordained elder in the Rio Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church.
