PROGRAM
VITAL WORSHIP GRANTS for Worshiping Communities
DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this grant is to fund creative projects that strengthen Christian worship practices and preaching at a local level. This money helps congregations, hospitals, schools, and other worshiping groups connect their public worship activities to intergenerational faith formation and Christian discipleship. Projects should aim to create renewed interest and energy for public worship in the community and must include some theological reflection on what public worship truly means. Projects often focus on things like multicultural worship, incorporating the creative arts, developing new music, trauma healing, or creating inclusive worship spaces.
ELIGIBILITY
Any group or collaborative team with leadership roles related to the worship life of a Christian church or non-profit organization in the United States or Canada is welcome to apply. This includes churches, denominational ministries, seminaries, universities, senior living communities, and other nonprofits. The application team should be collaborative, including people like pastors, educators, musicians, and artists. Importantly, the team must have the support of the senior pastor or the key administrator of the organization to make sure the project is successful. All organizations must be non-profit and based in the U.S. or Canada.
AMOUNT
Funding awards range from $8,000 to $25,000.
